We seek to improve the quality of institutions which are crucial for citizens’ engagement in public life. We advocate for strengthening democratic mechanisms which ensure political broad representation of social groups and local communities. We develop recommendations on how to foster citizens’ engagement in public affairs.
With the help of experts and practitioners, including the Electoral Experts Group, we develop solutions for a transparent and representative electoral process. We seek to ensure that elections are accessible and problem-free. We want to improve effectiveness and transparency of electoral apparatus. We run systematic information and education campaigns raising awareness and understanding of electoral process and importance of elections.
Together with our Local-Government Experts Group we analyse problems related to local self-rule as well as the balance between the central and local governments. We develop policy proposals which help building a stronger and more democratic local government.
