The Fund was set up by Magda Krzyzanowska-Mierzewska, daughter of Olga and Jerzy Krzyzanowski, to support the activities of women who engage in activities on behalf of local self-government communities.
From the Fund’s resources – in accordance with the Founder’s wishes – three scholarships in the amount of PLN 4,900 are financed each year, earmarked for the activity and personal development of local women social and local government activists participating in projects carried out by the Foundation (Your Vote campaign – current edition or previous ones, Local Government Workshop).
The scholarships are awarded by a Chapter consisting of the Founder and the Founder’s representatives: Magdalena Czarzyńska-Jachim, Dr. Anna Strzałkowska, Natalia Mierzewska and Alicja Zaczek-Żmijewska.
The selection of scholarship recipients is based on the evaluation of applications submitted via an online form.
The Chapter’s decision is announced in September each year on the Batory Foundation’s website and on its social media channels.
