J.and J. Putka “Spread Your Wings” Fund
The Fund was established in 2011 by the Putka Family to equalize educational opportunities for schoolchildren from indigent backgrounds in smaller towns. In 2011-2023, the Fund, funded by individual donations and 1% personal income tax payments made by members of the Putka Family and people close to the Fund’s goal, financed 327 full-year scholarships for the first, second and third years (including 159 scholarships for the first year of study, 109 – for the second year and 59 for the third year) of study at state universities, as well as 281 one-time scholarships to support the university enrollment process.
The fund ends in the 2023/2024 academic year, paying out scholarships only to existing second- and third-year scholarship recipients.
