The Fund was established in 2012 from a donation by married couple Janina and Tomasz Maczug to equalize educational opportunities for high school students from Wadowice and Nowy Sącz. In 2012- 2023, the Fund financed 36 full-year scholarships for the first year of study for 36 graduates of the Martin Wadowita High School No. 1 in Wadowice, the Maria Konopnicka High School No. 2 and the King Boleslaw Chrobry Academic High School in Nowy Sacz.
The last scholarships from the Fund were awarded for the 2023/2024 academic year. The Fund is not accepting new scholarship applications.
