The Fund was established in 2008 by friends and family of the tragically deceased lawyer Iwona Winiarska-Feleszko to equalize educational opportunities for schoolchildren from indigent communities in smaller towns. In 2008-2023, from the Fund’s resources, supported by donations from individuals and contributions of 1% of income tax, 83 full-year scholarships were granted to first- and second-year students studying at Warsaw state universities, amounting to PLN 481,519.
The fund will end in the 2023/2024 academic year, paying out scholarships only to existing scholarship recipients studying in the second year.
