The goal of the Equal Rights Program, planned for 2025–2027 and funded by the EU’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme, is to raise awareness about the equal rights of all citizens and to build and strengthen the institutional capacity of civil society organizations working to promote and protect the rights and values enshrined in the EU Treaties and the Charter of Fundamental Rights.
The program supports civil society organizations operating at the local, regional, and national levels that undertake activities to promote European values, protect universal human rights, and ensure equal rights. In addition to awarding grants (institutional, thematic, for exchange of experiences, and rapid response), the program offers training, webinars, study visits, and networking meetings aimed at organizational development, knowledge enhancement, and exchange of experiences.
The program’s budget for 2025–2027 is €6.7 million, of which €0.67 million comes from the Foundation’s own resources.
The program is run by the Stefan Batory Foundation in cooperation with the Federation of Local Funds.
