Prof. Wiktor Osiatyński, lawyer, human rights activist, columnist, in the 1990s a member of the Board of the Stefan Batory Foundation and originator of many social initiatives, including the Foundation’s Education Commission for Alcoholism and Other Addictions, awarded the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta by the President of Poland for distinguished service in developing the principles of a democratic state based on the rule of law and activities to strengthen civil society as well as achievements in academic and journalistic work.
